My 10 Thoughts on Pregnancy
Today I was thinking, I am really loving being pregnant. There are so many wonderful things that go along with it all!
Yet, today I find myself a wee bit frustrated with other not so wonderful things that go along with it.
So here is a list.
5 Things I Love....and 5 Things That Really Bug Me
1. I love...the "everything is new and exciting" feeling of pregnancy. It brings a freshness...a new beginning.
2. I love...how everyone feels the need to open doors for you. :-)
3. I love...how strangers smile at you, when before I was pregnant, they wouldn't notice me at all.
4. I love...to feel my baby moving inside of me!!! It's a most glorious feeling!
5. I love...the fact that I'm a mommy. I love the love that I already have for this child.
(There are SO many more things...but I must save some for other posts)
1. It bugs me...when EVERYONE AND THEIR MOTHERS ask me how I"m feeling. It's a nice gesture and all, but when everyone does it, it gets old. Sometimes I just want to say, "Do you really want to know? Ok, let me tell you all the personal details of pregnancy, then you'll never ask me again." So most of the time I just smile and say, "Great, thanks!"
2. It bugs me...when complete strangers rub my belly. What is it about pregnancy that makes people I've never said 2 words to before feel comfortable to rub my belly? I'm not a petting zoo, thanks, and neither is my baby. Again, a 'nice' gesture, but very annoying. Pregnant women still have a personal space!
3. It bugs me...when people give un-asked for advice. Everyone means well...but people talk like you should expect that you'll have the same experience as them. Everyone is different, and I would like to just take this thing one day at a time.
4. It bugs me...when I can't sleep because my legs hurt.
5. It bugs me...when simple tasks like buckling my dress shoes are ALREADY beginning to be a challenge!
(All of these "bugs" do not at all pertain to my blogger friends, of course. You can rub my belly any time you want.) ;0)

LOL Ang I absolutely love this post. As I was reading it I thought about my sister who had baby number three nearly 5 months ago. During her pregnancy she mentioned some of the same things that bug you (especially the "How are you feeling?" question). Anyways, I hope that someday I'll have the privilege of experiencing the "loves" and "bugs" of pregnancy.
You will, Sarah! And we can't wait!!!!!
this is funny!
I can SO relate with this! I almost had a t-shirt made answering all the questions that people repeatedly asked me. I know people are well meaning but it does get old. The perks are great though...come to think of it people did open more doors for me when I was pregnant with Asa..weird, I never really thought about it!
This post is awesome! Having just gone through a pregnancy I can so totally relate. Unfortunately, sometimes when I get annoyed I have a difficult time holding my tongue, especially with the "how are you feeling" question. For me the first five months i didn't go a day without morning (all day) sickness and yes i looked like crap so I got the question a lot. It got to the point where i was answering the question quite honestly, saying I've spent the last few weeks/months throwing up, haven't quite kept a meal down in all that time how do you think I feel. The best though was during the last part of the pregnancy with the summer heat. the question was expanded to how are you feeling especially with the heat we've been getting? What kind of question is that? I'm 8 months pregnant in the height of the summer heat...how do you think I feel? All that to say the how are you feeling question is my biggest pet peeve about pregnancy (next to the rubbing of the belly).
As far as doors go, I noticed that more people held the door open for me when pregnant. However, post pregnancy, when I could actually use someone to hold the door open since I have an infant and a toddler and door holding is difficult, it doesn't happen.
On the positive side I fully agree with your list of "loves". I really miss feeling Violet inside me.
Hey Ang....you're halfway there!!!!!!
