He is my Shield
This afternoon, the Lord fed my spirit with His Word. I know that He led me to this Psalm. I have been struggling lately with heavy emotions, both inward and outward, have doubted God, been angry with God, and yearned for God. I have chosen to trust, chosen to dance, chosen to wait. Today the Lord refreshed me. He gave me Psalm 33:13-22...just for me.
Here is how He read it to me:
"I look down from heaven;
I see you, daughter of man.
From the place of My dwelling I look
On every person of the earth;
Yet, I fashion all of your hearts individually (don't compare yourself to others...I will fashion your heart by My Word, not by other people's words)
I consider everything that you do and feel.
No one is ever saved by his supporters, those around him,
or by his own strengths.
Nothing on earth can be counted on to save you
You will not be delivered from this by any other's strength.
Behold, Angela, my eye is on you because you fear Me,
because you hope in My mercy
to deliver your soul from darkness
and to keep you alive in this famine."
My response (vv. 20-22):
"My soul waits for you, O Lord;
YOU are my help and my SHIELD (you are my protector, to knock away the fiery darts of the evil one; I am safe with You)
My heart rejoices in You,
because I have trusted in Your holy name.
Let your mercy, O Lord, be upon me.
Let your mercy, O Lord, be upon my family.
Let your mercy, O Lord, be upon my ministry and my home.
Just as I place ALL of my hope in You- and ONLY You.
No one else will do...it's only You."

bless the Lord that we are safe with Him, that we can dare to hope in His goodness. I was thinking about you a lot yesterday, Ang. you've had numerous big, difficult, exciting, hard life things happen lately all around you...while being pregnant! i just prayed that the Lord would be your strength in weakness and hope in darkness and your all in all as you trust in Him. So glad He is the Source of your life and so glad you blogged about it. He chases us down with His faithfulness, eh?
