Awesome quick trip!

Woohoo! We just got back from the Russian and have SOOO many good picts. Basically, it wasn't a fishing trip...the run for Reds was late. We fished, but didn't catch anything this time. But it was DEFINITELY a bear watching trip! I'll have pictures up soon!
Thank the Lord we are safe, but were so blessed with seeing things most people would only see in National Geographic! I had never seen a grizzly catch and eat a fish before. That was pretty sweet. And we had black bears spying on us...I'll tell all in my next post when I have time to put these picts on.
Honestly, even with growing up in Alaska, I think I saw bears more times this weekend than in my entire life! I think I counted 7 times we saw them. Both black and brown. The black bears are kind of cute. The brown bears you definitely don't want to mess with!!!
So stay tuned folks...the excitement is yet to come!

I met yet another person from Anchorage this week. It makes me think that it must be easy to come here from the West Coast...do it...you know you want to.

Picts are coming soon.
Lynn- I do want to. Although, it goes both ways you know. ;-) We meet tonnes of people from the east coast!
Heather- yes, bears can be scary! You just have to respect them and give them their space. I have to tell you, at one point when I saw a grizzly cross the river about 20x the speed that I could cross the river, it put the fear in me!
Hiking while preggo- it's my favorite form of exercise! I love it and do it all the time. It's one of the things I love most about AK. So many trails take us to so many beautiful places! SO, i go with my bear bells on one hip and my bear spray on the other...and climb away!
