Pregnancy Question, Ladies
So here's my q:
What did it first feel like for you when you first felt your baby move? I've heard lots of different things...like gas, bubbles, fluttering...there have been some times I've thought maybe I've felt it but not sure...so I'm interested in hearing your stories!!!
Do share!

Ah, I remember asking Elizabeth the same question! It really is kinda hard to tell when it first starts happening. When I first started feeling the baby it was like little butterflies that would sweep over me- real quick and fluttery. The kind of thing that doesn't last long, but you would stop you cold in your tracks when it happened.
Soon after that it felt JUST like a little bouncy ball was in my balloon of a tummy - boing..boing....just bouncing off the walls every so often.
Then of course comes the times when there is no doubt that someone just booted you in the ribs and it wasn't hubby next to you! Ow!! What the..?? (followed with laughter)
Then closer to the end your stomache will momentarily turn into a square with corners and all as baby finds a new spot to kick you from! (my friends all got a big kick out of this one, as they could see it form from across the room!)
With Jadon, I first started feeling it at 15 weeks, and it felt like someone very lightly tapping me on the inside of my tummy. With Amberly, it felt like gas bubbles...I only knew it was her when the "bubbles" weren't followed by a "burst":) And I started feeling her at 12 weeks (I guess they say you feel your baby move sooner after your first pg)
Almost like btterfly kisses from inside your belly. Very faint, random and unpredictable! Once you recognize it, you'll notice it more and more, and like Kristi said it doesn't take long before it's like one of those little bouncy balls, and then it'll continue to change all the time. VERY WONDERFUL!! Have you been feeling something?
Well what more is there to add to what the very wise veteran pregnant woman have already said, except to say that it's the MOST thrilling thing a woman gets to experience during a pregnancy! I LOVE IT!!! I didn't recognize movement with Gabe until 22 weeks, although when I started recognizing it I realized that I had probably felt something similar to that and just missed it. In the beginning I think it's really easy to miss when you're not watching for it. And with this pregnancy, I started feeling movement at 12-13 weeks which felt like gas :) And what Kayla said is true...if you don't pass anything afterwards it's prolly movement!!! Very thrilled for your miracle Ang, and rejoicing along with you in your pregnancy bliss!
I don't ever remember feeling the flutters with Em. One day, while sitting in the caf at bbc, she just decided to give me a swift kick. There was no mistaking it! And from then on, she never stopped! With Ab, i felt her little flutters from the beginning of the 4th month. I think it was different with her cause i knew what i was feeling and what to look for. Do you think you've been feeling that little one dance? I'm sooooooo excited for you, Ang!! :)
Oh, and the 'flutters' really do feel like little butterflies. It's sooooo awesome!! :)
i always read that i'd feel gas bubbles or butterflies, also, but that wasn't the case for me. the first time i felt olivia kick, it was 3 am and i couldn't sleep. i had my hands on my belly, and it felt like a tiny finger was poking me from the inside. it was a merely a few kicks but the most beautiful and amazing sleepless night i've ever had. (this didn't happen until the fourth month for me.... and it never felt like gas or butterflies)
I LOVED hearing about all your personal experiences! Thanks for taking the time to share. :-)
I'm really not sure if I can honestly say I HAVE felt something yet. I think I may occasionally, but not sure. Mostly feeling like sortof gas bubbles...but it could be just gas. ONe time it felt like someone was popping bubbles deep within me. I've been really bloated during this pregnancy so it could be either. I'm not sure that just b/c it doesn't "poof" out it's not gas. :-)
So alas I'm still waiting to feel something definite! The suspense is fun and I can't wait!
I'm amazed that some of you could feel as soon as 11-14 weeks! That's awesome!
I think it's like some of you said, I'm just not sure of the feeling to look for yet.
I'll let you know AS SOON as I feel something definite!
