Excited
Yes, a new post is long overdue. I haven't really had anything that great to blog about...all pales in comparison to the latest trip to Cali.
However, I also do not want to disappoint my faithful blog checkers, so I decided today I would post about some things I am excited about. Spring is here and summer is coming, and although my summer will be filled with more books and papers, I am excited for a few things!!!
1. SUNSHINE!! I love sunshine. Although it's not as warm here in Anchorage in the summer as I would like it to be, we still get a good enough tan to worry about future facial wrinkles.
2. Camping, rafting, hiking, volleyball, soccer- all the fun summer activities you can do once the river melts and the grass turns green. I love camping especially...I have many fond childhood memories and so every time we do it, even if it's a really horrible day for camping, the nostalgia makes everything peachy.
3. Seattle- taking our annual summer trip to Seattle for our Pacific Northwest Leadership Summit. Good shopping, great restaurants, beautiful flowers and huge trees, pier market...fun times.
4. Losing weightaka. getting in shape- the laziness of winter has worn off...starting to run and pull out those Pilates videos that have been collecting dust since Feb. when I got sick.
5. Putting 4 more classes behind me.
6. Gardening- for me right now it's just flower and herb gardening, but I inherited this nature from my dad. I love to garden. It's therapeutic.
7. Picnics- hiking up on a mountain and having a nice picnic overlooking the ocean inlet...ah yes.
8. Friends-coming to visit!!! Yes- you know who you are!!!!
9. VBS and Youth camp- much work, but comes with much fun and rewards also.
10. SUNSHINE!- must begin and end with the greatest of all- I live in the Land of the Midnight Sun!!!! Right now, even in May, the sun does not set until 10:30 pm!!!!

Yeah your back!
Seattle - how much FUN!!!! That would be a blast!
Who's coming to visit you? East coasters????
We usually make it to Seattle at least twice a year. Morgan goes more often for meetings...if you ever want to make a trip maybe we could meet up! ;-)
The famous Tim Branscombe is coming to visit in August (he is speaking at our youth camp), Dani Coutu is coming to Homer (3.5 hours south of us) in Aug. also; and the wonderful D&E Edgett promise they're "making their way up here" sometime!!!!!! If you see them amidst their motorhome journeys, bug them about coming to visit for me! :-) Since we are so far from the east coasters, it's wonderful to have people visit. Fortunately we live in a very attractive destination, and it's relatively not that expensive to come (depending on where you live on the east coast).
Coutu-Shaw! Coutu-Shaw! Sorry, Dani.
Oh yeah! 4 people coming your way!!! That will be a nice treat for you guys! Visit from friends are always so fun - esp. when you live so far from each other!!
Alaska would be a great vacation destination!! Maybe one day we'll make it out too
