The Season of Love
You know those words that you can get for your fridge that are fun to put together to make different sentences? Well, several years ago, Morgan gave me a set of words that, put together, make the 13th chapter of Corinthians, known as the "love chapter". Well as the season of St. Valentine is quickly approaching, I decided it was time to be daily reminded of what the Bible says about love, so I pulled out the magnets and began to place them in order. As I was thinking about love and the words of Paul to the Corinthians, I began to think about this season of love. Love is such a wonderful thing...like Paul says, if we don't have love, we are nothing.
I have many different kinds of love for different people. The love that I have for my husband is different than the love I have for anyone else. This it the kind of love that is often capitalized around Valentine's Day. Understandably so, it is a great time to enjoy the "feely-good" love that comes to us and we can celebrate at this time of year. However, I got thinking about love for others: Christ-like love. I felt challenged by the Holy Spirit to make this Season of Love about Christ's love, and maybe about giving love to those who need to be loved more than ever right now. I hope I can fulfill this challenge given to me, yet I'm a little unsure...so i pray that the Holy Spirit will direct me to those who need love, and I pray that I will be able to share a little of Christ's love with them this season. Maybe this is what Valentine's Day should be all about--Giving Love, not Getting Love.

I was challenged by the Father on this very matter before Christmas. There was a particular gentleman who seemed to be making poor decisions, dragging his girlfriend with him. I waited for him to ask my opinion. I even prayed about how I could let him know how bad he was.
When I prayed, the Lord said, "Have you loved him? He has enough judges and has heard that his choices are wrong. He's already made the choices, so what's one more voice going to add to the mix? Love him."
I literally choked up, overwhelmed by the love of Christ for this gentleman. It's wild how the Holy Spirit will take an open vessel (which I wasn't till Christ moved) and mold it for His use.
Oddly enough, the gentleman approached me later and thanked me for being the one person who loved him. I admitted that it was the Lord loving through a judge.
Very cool design! Useful information. Go on! » »
